Tripadvisor certificate of excellence

We received a certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor in the post a few days ago, and I must say the staff was thrilled and very proud.
I was a bit surprised how much this meant to them, and then realized that it was a compliment to their work.
It was a true joint effort.

We have 40 reviews, not all of them great.
Of course, it means a great deal when you read compliments. But nothing is perfect, and neither are we.
The aim is to strive for perfection.
So we focused on the critical reviews and tried to ammend our mistakes.
One of the comments that kept repeating was about breakfast.
We put a lot of energy in making it more appealing for our guests.
Our cook started by baking our own homemade bread and cakes.
This was a definite success and the effort proved to be worthwhile.

We won't stop there, but will continue to listen to our guests, and where we can, improve.

Rainy days

A cloudy day in Zadar today.

However, surprisingly, we have guests !!

So, what should we suggest they do ?

In itself, the town, however small, is packed with things to see. Whether it's the churches, or museums
or the remains of the Roman forum.
I still walk with my nose up in the air, admiring the details on the old buildings.
It never ceases to amaze me how much talent and work was put into creating decorations for these buildings. Nothing compares with it today.

However, one point of interest is Specific for Zadar, and that is the Sea Organ.
It is such a creative idea to come up with.
I am surprised nobody has ever thought of it before.

To use the movemets of the sea to make music. It is just WOW !

What's new ?

Another full circle of seasons has gone by, and we are back in October again.

Upon reflection, we had a great season, meaning a full house and satisfied guests.

Of course, there were a few glitches, but we smoothed them out along the way.

Great reviews on Tripadvisor.

We put in an extra effort with our breakfasts (after a few criticizms)
So, now our cook ( Iva Nikolić) makes delicious homemade bread and cakes, which we serve for
breakfast. The feed back has been excellent.

Our staff has been commended for its hospitality many times over.
This makes us very proud, since that is our main goal: to make our guests comfortable and welcome.

Our restaurant, along with our Chef Iva Nikolić, has also had some great reviews.
The stress this year has been on home style specialties. With her expertise, the kitchen flourished and so did the compliments.

So, if you are travelling to Zadar, make sure to stop at our place.
The friendly staff of Pansion Restaurant Albin will be happy to greet you.

October

Still satisfied with the flow of our guests, who are even more discerning.

With fewer guests one can give them more attention and help them plan out their stay in Zadar.

Only the weather is a problem. Where to send them on a rainy day?

Will have to buy even bigger umbrellas...

Interesting observations about the upcoming season

April is finially here. Long awaited. The season is picking up, after a few drab months,
and our first guests are arriving.

Of course, with all the talk of recession, we were quite anxious about what to expect.
However, I must admit we are pleasantly surprised.
In October of last year we decided not to raise our prices, rather try to offer our guests
the best service possible. We are not a luxurious hotel, but we do keep up a standard of comfort, and what we feel is most important, to make our guests feel truly welcome and at home as much as possible.

What we have noticed as a change in bookings, as opposed to previous years, is a prolongation
of our guests stays.
In previous years, a guest would usualy stay a maximum of two to three nights.
Most guests seemed to plan their vacation in such a way as to see as much of the Dalmatian
coast as possible in a weeks time.
I always thought that was a pity, because each region, city, town has so much to offer and is specific in its cuture and sights worth seeing.
This year, however, most of our guests are making reservations for a week minimum.
Of course, that is great for us, and we are pleased that we will be able to show off our beautiful city and its vicinity.
